About Us
Introduction
DennisMathiew was founded in 2005 by two shipping lawyers, Dennis Tan and Captain Mathiew Christophe Rajoo. Leveraging their knowledge and experience of the shipping, logistics, oil and gas businesses; Dennis and Mathiew have been providing legal services in these areas. The firm expanded when Hui Tsing and her team came on board in 2021.
Our core expertise remains in shipping and our capability cuts across the traditional wet and dry divide. We handle all aspects of shipping from advising transactions and purchases to claims and casualties to recoveries and litigation. Our clients benefit from our cross-experience and this is brought to bear when advising clients in disputes and in transactions. We also have a lively disputes practice, our lawyers regularly appear before international arbitration tribunals and the Singapore court as counsel.

Capt Mathiew Christophe Rajoo
Partner
Mathiew’s main areas of practice are Shipping and Admiralty law. Prior to his admission as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2001, he served onboard container vessels and petroleum tankers as a Deck Officer for almost a decade.
Tan Hui Tsing
Partner
Hui Tsing is regularly instructed by marine underwriters and recovery agents in respect of cargo/cargo recovery claims. She is well-known amongst the local offices of P&I Clubs and is frequently instructed to act for their members.
Dennis Tan

Dennis believes that his experience in both contentious and non-contentious areas of shipping work provides an extremely unique blend of expertise which will benefit his clients when he assists them in all types of shipping matters.
