Ace brings to the team at DennisMathiew a broad range of experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters. As a litigator he has been involved with domestic and cross-border disputes in both the Singapore courts and before arbitral tribunals. In particular, Ace has experience assisting with corporate restructuring and insolvency, individual bankruptcy, boardroom and shareholder disputes, employment law, landlord-tenant conflicts, and China-related investment disputes. In this work he has advised multinational corporations, listed companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, and private individuals in various industry sectors such as banking, shipping, and oil and gas.

Ace’s experience with non-contentious legal work has mainly been the preparation of advice on regulatory matters and the preparation of employment contracts, handbooks, and policies.

Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, Ace connects effectively with clients from the People’s Republic of China (“PRC”) and is able to use his deep understanding of Chinese culture and the unique needs of PRC clients to deliver effective legal support.

Outside of work, Ace enjoys solving Chinese chess puzzles and traveling abroad to compete in poker tournaments.
