Professional Profile
Prior to practicing in Singapore, Abirame practiced in Victoria, Australia as a solicitor-advocate primarily in the area of criminal defence. She first worked in a regional office of Victoria Legal Aid where she was exposed to a wide range of criminal matters and clients from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds. She subsequently moved to private practice where she continued her practice in criminal defence. Her work in criminal defence enabled Abirame to obtain extensive advocacy experience.
Since being admitted to practice in Singapore, Abirame has pursued a practice in commercial litigation and arbitration. Abirame’s current practice focuses on shipping and international trade disputes.
Abirame is a passionate litigator and advocate who is dedicated to leaving no stone unturned in order to achieve the most favourable outcome for her clients. She is also committed to developing strong and collaborative client relationships as she believes this is key to successful outcomes.
