Justin holds a law degree (LLB with Hons) from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom and is an Associate of the firm. Justin’s main areas of practice comprise International Trade, Shipping and Admiralty law. Having worked his way from tertiary education through to university, Justin has developed a keen awareness of the expectations, requirements, and concerns of folks in commerce.
On contentious matters, Justin has been involved in High Court, District Court, Small Claims Tribunal and Employment Claims Tribunal cases, with disputes arising from a myriad of issues ranging from vessel arrest, charterparty, joint venture, salvage, sale and purchase, employment, and tenancy, amongst other things. Justin also participates in arbitration and other alternate dispute resolution schemes such as mediation.
Justin’s non-contentious practice is wide ranging, from advising on vessel arrest, sale and purchase agreements, distributorship agreements, warehousing and other logistics agreements; to employment contracts, handbooks and manuals, non-compete agreements, non-disclosure agreements, termination and termination benefits and workplace safety and health issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Justin has also worked on Competition and Antitrust matters, including anticompetitive agreements, abuse of dominance, preparing of an undertaking to the CCCS and unfair practices in violation of Singapore’s Consumer Protection laws. Justin has also been involved in the rendering of advice pertaining to licensing, import and export regulations, strategic goods and trade sanctions, and assisted clients with their leniency plea under the Singapore Custom’s voluntary disclosure programme.
